From 1984 to
2002, Dr. Les Ollila,
now NBBC's chancellor, served as NBBC's president. Under his
leadership, Northland grew to approximately 650 undergraduate and 100
graduate students, representing 43 states and 12 foreign countries. Dr. Ollila received a B.A. and an L.L.D. honorary
degree from Bob Jones University. He also received a D.D. honorary degree from
FaithWay Baptist College of Michigan. Prior to serving at NBBC, he served more than five years with Life
Action Revival Ministries. After pastoring in South Carolina, he served 10
years as associate pastor and director of youth ministries at Calvary Baptist
Church of Roseville, Michigan. Besides directing Leadership Ministries, he
authored Manna, a devotional, and the
Foundations for Youth Programs. He is
a nationally recognized seminar and conference speaker in the areas of
leadership training, Christian educators’ conferences, family-centered church
